18-year-old charged in fatal Durham shooting

Durham police have charged an 18-year-old man with murder in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday night.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have charged an 18-year-old man with murder in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday night.

Officers responding found Dion Omari Williams, 17, of Durham, dead in the 3400 block of Freeman Road around 10:25 p.m. while responding to a report of a gunshot wound.

Authorities later charged Jaaron Joyner, whom they said knew Williams, but they offered no further information about the shooting, including a possible motive.
