<b>SANFORD, N.C.</b> — A 17-year-old from Sanford died early Thursday from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.<br />

Paramedics took Lett to Central Carolina Hospital. She was later transported by helicopter to UNC Hospitals where she died, police said.
