WILSONS MILLS, N.C. — Authorities charged a 17-year-old with failure to yield the right of way after she crashed into a Johnston County Area Transit bus Tuesday morning, according to state troopers.

Emergency crews took six of the nine people on board to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Louise Everette, 64, had the most serious injuries, troopers said. Her arm or shoulder was trapped in the wreck.

Brianne French, 17, of Clayton, was driving across U.S. Highway 70 at Strickland Road when she crashed into the bus, authorities said.

She stopped her red Pontiac at the stop sign. Troopers said they believe she then didn't look both ways or didn't see the bus.
