Posted October 19, 2014

— A 15-year-old was hospitalized Saturday night after he was injured during a hit-and-run in Roseboro.

Traveon Thompkins was hit at about 9 p.m. while walking on East Pleasant Street, according to April Thompson, Thompkins' aunt.

The teenager was transported to UNC Hospitals, where he has loss of hearing, a broken bone in his left ear and a fractured skull, Thompson said.

"(There) was bleeding in the brain but that has stopped thankfully," she said.

Investigators have not released any information about the incident.

Why do you use the same picture over and over that adds absolutely nothing to the story? I'm not sure why you feel you have to have a picture on every page....it makes the page slower to load and requires more scrolling. Please stop it.

The hit-and-run driver will be in big trouble, and rightly so. But, it is too dangerous for our kids to be out in the roadways.
