15-year-old injured in Roseboro hit-and-run

A 15-year-old was hospitalized Saturday night after he was injured during a hit-and-run in Roseboro.

ROSEBORO, N.C. — A 15-year-old was hospitalized Saturday night after he was injured during a hit-and-run in Roseboro.

Traveon Thompkins was hit at about 9 p.m. while walking on East Pleasant Street, according to April Thompson, Thompkins' aunt.

The teenager was transported to UNC Hospitals, where he has loss of hearing, a broken bone in his left ear and a fractured skull, Thompson said.

"(There) was bleeding in the brain but that has stopped thankfully," she said.

Investigators have not released any information about the incident.
