15 arrested, drugs, guns, cash seized in Nash County investigation

Nash County, N.C. — Nash County deputies arrested 15 people and seized drugs, guns, vehicles and more than $416,000 in cash in an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking organization.
In August 2016, the Tar River Drug Task Force began an investigation of Rayfield Morgan. After extensive surveillance, Morgan was arrested, and 2 kilograms of cocaine was seized during a traffic stop.
Subsequent to Morgan's arrest, Rupert Camacho and Daniel Vazquez were identified as alleged cocaine suppliers. Several search warrants were executed, and 4 kilograms of cocaine, 70 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills were seized.
Authorities also found $416,323 in cash, several vehicles, nine guns and other miscellaneous assets purchased with drug money.
According to deputies, the investigation has been extremely successful in disrupting the flow of cocaine to Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax and Wilson counties.
In total, 15 people were arrested.
