Hayti Legacy Kwanzaa
RALEIGH, N.C. — The long holiday weekend has come to an end for many, and, as you start to get back into the swing of things, check out these fun work week events.

Tuesday

Hayti Legacy Kwanzaa - The day-long celebration at Durham's Hayti Heritage Center features a documentary film showing, a children’s village with interactive activities for families and evening performances.
NC Chinese Lantern Festival - Christmas has ended, but this show will be up until Jan. 14.

Sono Wine & Sake Social - Sono welcomes guests from 5 to 6:30 p.m. weekly on Tuesday nights for a delicious and casual educational culinary experience. The cost of the tasting is $10, and walk-in guests are welcome.

Wednesday

Festival of Lights - This light show -- featuring a hayride, bonfires, smore's, hot apple cider and homemade donuts -- at Hill Ridge Farms is open through Dec. 31.

Holiday Afternoon Tea - Indulge in three assorted tea sandwiches, savories and sweets per person, house-made chocolate confections and scones at The Carolina Inn.
Brett's Open Mic - Beyu Cafe in Durham hosts this open mic night from 7 to 9 p.m.

Thursday

1999 Problems with Chris Hendricks - 1999 Problems is a special event cover band focusing on your favorite songs from the 80s and 90s plus lots of other songs you forgot that you loved and rarely hear live. This six-person band brings tight harmonies and full instrumentations to keep the party dancing and singing along all night. It starts at 8:30 p.m. at Kings.
Hush Hush: Secret Brew - During this funny show, audiences at Beer Study in Durham will anonymously share a secret they never thought they'd say out loud.

Friday

Kwanza Celebration - The Ujima Group, Inc. in partnership with the Town of Cary hosts its 23rd annual Kwanzaa Celebration at the Cary Arts Center. The celebration includes fun for the whole family with an ethnic food, vendor market and craft activities for children.
Boom Unit Brass Band - The band will play a free show featuring modern funk, rock and pop hits at The Bullpen.
The Bullpen: Wings, beer and blues
Carolina Hurricanes - The Canes will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:30 p.m.
Finally Friday: Big Hero 6 - The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences will show the delightful film followed by a talk by Aaron Poteate, Co-Coordinator of the Visual World Investigate Lab, who will sort out the science behind the movie.
