12 texts you should totally send yourself
Posted May 12
There are dozens of articles about all the little text love bombs you can send your honey to brighten up their day, but what about the texts you should send yourself? Of course you should want someone in your life to receive an electronic “hello," but that shouldn’t mean you should be left out.
In a perfect world, you would be able to text yourself one or two of these gems:
Killer Instagram selfie!
Who says you can’t stalk your own social media pages? You wouldn’t hesitate to check out an on-point selfie taken by the love of your life, so return the favor. Seek out some serious social media validation by calling out your best selfies.
You didn’t do the dishes tonight….which means pizza is the only dinner option.
Do your future self a favor and skip doing the dishes so you can eat pizza straight out of the box, completely guilt free. Loving yourself is a huge part of any relationship and nothing says love like not doing dishes and eating pizza.
Did you turn the straightener off?
Ideally, you would need yourself to be home if you replied “no” to this text message, but it’s the thought that counts…right?
Reminding your beau of an adorable memory is sweet; reminding yourself of that hilarious night of stress eating peanut butter while watching “The Walking Dead” is hilarious. Remind yourself to laugh about the good times by sending yourself a walk down memory lane.
Husband or boyfriend aside, everyone should be able to say this to themselves.
You forgot to do laundry again
…which means that $10 is still hiding in your pocket.
Blunt and to the point could come off as rude, but don’t be fooled. Doing favors for someone you love is part of any relationship. Your ability to re-wear jeans and skip laundry day comes in handy every once and while, which is something anyone would love about you.
You got plans tonight?
Mr. Wonderful shouldn’t have the monopoly on your weeknight plans. Ask yourself out and spend an evening doing whatever you want. Dress up, dress down, go out or stay in; totally up to you if you received this message in your inbox.
Here are 13,278,171 puppy pictures.
Because you would only send that many puppy pictures to someone you truly adore.
I put the computer charger on your bed.
These texts may seem straightforward and the opposite of loving, but making sure phones, laptops, and tablets never run out of juice may be the best testament of love there is. You’d do the same for the man in your life, so it only makes sense you’d do yourself the same favor.
Text yourself a little emoji encouragement when the days gets a little rough to remind yourself how awesome you are. Granted, you may be a little biased but that’s beside the point.
Thanks for pouring too much milk on your cereal; now I get to have a second bowl.
Learn to embrace your own faults, just like you learn to love the mistakes your mister makes. Plus, sharing really is caring, especially when you share an entire box of Lucky Charms with yourself.
