10 signs you need a change of scenery
Posted November 7, 2016
There are times when life just gets you down. If you’re in one of those moods where nothing you do is going to make you happy, it may be time for a change of scenery. Whether it be a day off to do what you love or an extended vacation exploring the world, here are 10 signs you need to take a break from life and go out and do something nice for yourself:
1. You can’t focus
Keeping your priorities straight is hard enough already. If you’re finding it difficult to focus on anything you do (from work to spending time with your spouse and kids), a change of scenery will help you focus on what really matters.
2. Stress is eating you alive
Stress isn’t healthy for you, no matter what you’re doing. It makes you anxious, nervous and overwhelmed. If you’re feeling any of these things, it’s time to take a break and release all of that pent-up stress inside.
3. Work is bogging you down
There are times at work where you have a lot to do or very little to do. If it’s one of the busier times of the year, perhaps a short break between it all will help you rejuvenate and give you the necessary motivation to finish strong. Once things slow down, you can take an extended vacation to fully recuperate.
4. You’re more negative than positive
If all you can see are the negative aspects of life, a change of scenery is sure to help. There are more positive things in the world than you may think. Seeking out the good in life will make you much happier in the long run.
5. You’ve fallen into a pattern
Do you find yourself doing the same things over and over again? It’s time to switch it up. Make little changes at first. They will lead to big changes in the end. Going somewhere new will only help to break up the patterns you’ve set in your life.
6. Nothing much is happening
If all you have time for is work, eating and sleep, it’s time to add something new to the mix. Make time for your family and travel somewhere new. The memories you make together will be ones you’ll remember for a lifetime.
7. It’s been a long time since you’ve seen friends or family
Time spent with friends and family is extremely valuable. If it’s been a long time since you’ve seen close friends or spent time with your extended family, take the time to visit them. It will be a good change of scenery from the normal life you lead and you’ll be in good company.
8. There’s a little bit of extra money in your savings account
Is your money burning a hole in your pocket? It may be time to put that cash to good use. Depending on how much change you have to spare, don’t hesitate to plan for a new adventure, big or small.
9. You’re itching to try something new
What’s holding you back? If you want to try something new go out and try it! You’ll learn a lot more about yourself and who you are if you take risks. Satisfy your wants and desires and go out to get the change in scenery you so desperately need.
10. Far off places are calling your name
The travel bug is eating you alive. Make those travel dreams a reality and set off on the daring adventure you’ve always wanted to go on. Don’t let little things hold you back! A change of scenery will let you forget about reality for a little while and focus on things that really matter.
