10,000 fans expected at WakeMed Soccer Park; traffic delays likely

An estimated 10,000 soccer fans are expected at Wednesday night's sold-out game between the U.S. Women's National Team and Switzerland at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

CARY, N.C. — An estimated 10,000 soccer fans are expected at Wednesday night's sold-out game between the U.S. Women's National Team and Switzerland at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. 

The Town of Cary is asking drivers to avoid the area around the park, at 201 Soccer Park Drive, from 3 to 8 p.m.

No lanes will be closed, but the following streets in eastern Cary will likely experience heavy delays:

  • East Chatham Street
  • Maynard Road
  • Trinity Road
  • Cary Towne Boulevard

Game ticketholders are reminded that parking lots will open at 4 p.m. Cars that arrive by 6:30 p.m. and have four or more passengers will receive preferred parking. To avoid delays, have $10 cash ready for parking.
