1 Killed When Pickup Rear-Ends Log Truck
One person was killed Wednesday morning east of Kenly when a pickup truck ran into the back of a log truck, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedKENLY, N.C. — One person was killed Wednesday morning east of Kenly when a pickup truck ran into the back of a log truck, authorities said.
Dallas Pervis Jr., 74, of Kenly, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital after the 8:45 a.m. wreck on N.C. Highway 222 East, also known as East 2nd Street, authorities said.
An autopsy was planned to determine if Pervis suffered a medical emergency before the collision.
The log truck, which wasn't loaded at the time, had stopped in the highway, although there was no stop sign or traffic light, authorities said.
The wreck remains under investigation.
