1 killed, 2 wounded in Sanford shooting

One man was killed and two others were wounded late Sunday in a shooting in Sanford, police said.

SANFORD, N.C. — One man was killed and two others were wounded late Sunday in a shooting in Sanford, police said.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at 208 Grove St. at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday and found Michael Hill, 33, had been shot in the chest, police said. Hill was transported to Central Carolina Hospital, where he died.

Ricky Antonio Tysor Jr., of 502 Pineland St., was shot in the buttocks, and Timothy Jarod Grier, of 2509 Blackston Road, was shot in the foot during the incident, police said. Tysor was transported to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, while Grier was admitted to Central Carolina Hospital.

No charges had been filed by Monday afternoon, and the shooting remained under investigation, police said.
