1 dies from injuries in North Carolina gas station shooting

— One person has died from injuries in a shooting at a gas station in North Carolina.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told local media outlets that 37-year-old Cornelius Drayton died Thursday at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Police say Drayton and another person were shot June 9.

Investigators said three people were sitting in a car when shots were fired from another vehicle. The car drove away and was chased by the second vehicle and shots were exchanged.

The car with the wounded people stopped at a convenience store in Gaston County.

No arrests have been made in the shootings.
