1 Dead in Lee County Wreck
Authorities say one person is dead after an early Monday morning accident involving a tractor-trailer in Lee County.

SANFORD, N.C. — Authorities say one person is dead after an early Monday-morning accident involving a tractor-trailer in Sanford.
According to the Highway Patrol, a Jetta driven by Eugenio Mendoza Gonzalez, 24, of Sanford, crossed the center line near the intersection of Edwards and Douglas Farm roads and struck the truck. The truck had swerved across the line in response to the Jetta's movements, troopers said.
Gonzalez died. Curtis Mize, 37, the driver of the Carolina Tank Lines rig, was treated at a hospital and released, authorities said.
The victims' names have not yet been released.
