FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was killed and three others were injured early Sunday in a house fire.

Around 4:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a single-story home at 1908 Stanberry Street. According to officials, flames had already taken over 60 to 75 percent of the structure when firefighters arrived.

Crews had to initially fight the fire from the outside of the house before they could enter. Upon entering, firefighters found one victim who had died in the blaze.

Three other residents, who were able to exit the home before the firefighters arrived, were transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and related injuries.

The fire is under investigation.
