Raleigh Little Theatre will wrap up this season's youth series with "Sleeping Beauty," which opens Friday.

This is the second time Raleigh Little Theatre has produced its version of this classic tale, which includes original music by Haskell Fitz-Simons, the theater's longtime artistic director. It was produced 10 years ago as part of a teen program.

“Our version of Sleeping Beauty, while following the basic plot of the traditional fairy tale, focuses more on a message of forgiveness and inclusion. In addition, we have a fabulous team of designers who are collaborating to bring magic to the show,” said Judy Dove, a longtime teacher in Wake County schools and the theater's youth program. This will be her first time directing a show.

The show runs on select days through April 12. Tickets are $17 and $11 for kids 12 and under. The show plus a walk through the beautiful rose garden next door might just make for a perfect Easter weekend outing.
