'Operation Sticker' leads to arrests in Durham

According to deputies, in the first five days of "Operation Sticker," the county's anti-crime and narcotics unit made 21 arrests. Two of the people arrested were known gang members. The unit also served 16 misdemeanor warrants and seized six guns and 21 grams of cocaine.

Paul Martin with the Durham County Sheriff's Office said the team caught a crime in action.

"The very last arrest that we made, I think we may have interrupted a drive-by shooting," he said. "The shooting was one of our narcotics detectives. The guy was posturing getting out of the vehicle like he was about to fire on us."

The sheriff's office says they will work to analyze their findings and look for trends.
