RALEIGH, N.C.Nail Yeah is a trendy, friendly nail spa on Glenwood Avenue that specializes in quirky designs created by the owner herself.

It has always been in Crystal Clark’s identity to have a career in nail artistry.

At a young age, she was mentored by a nail tech at her mother’s salon, who taught her the ropes of nail design. After years of experience and education, Clark opened up Nail Yeah on Glenwood Ave. to create a full-time space for her passion.

“My job doesn’t feel like a job to me because this is what I love," said Clark. "I get to come to work and make people feel good about themselves.”

Nail Yeah offers traditional nail services, such as manicures, pedicures, natural nails and gel nails, but Clark's business is widely known around the Triangle for her artistic designs she personalizes for each client’s needs. Clients can get virtually any design done -- from a simple color to a complex pattern trending on Pinterest. Clark even did a freehand painting of the Carolina Hurricanes' mascot, Stormy, on our Out and About managing editor's nails last year.

“Nail art is just like fashion," said Clark. "Anything goes. You can customize any look based on your individual style and preferences.”

Clark regularly hosts other area female nail technicians at her Carter Building studio. “I’m a single black mother, so supporting local female business owners is really important to me,” she said.

Nail Yeah has a wide variety of nail polish, including Gem Chronicles, a Durham-based nail lacquer brand. Clark only uses “5-free” nail polishes, so her clients aren’t exposed to harsh chemicals, like formaldehyde, which is commonly found in mainstream alternatives.

The full services menu is available online, and bookings can be made online with a $20 deposit that goes towards your service. Although online bookings are encouraged, you can call the studio for walk-in availability. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fun tip: Nail Yeah offers a "Mystery Manicure" promotion for $55. Clark will consult with you on a color palette that is work appropriate, but the rest is a surprise!
