— Central North Carolina is expected to be soaked with rain this weekend.

There's an 85 percent chance the region will receive at least an inch of rain before Tuesday, WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.

Raleigh has a 41 percent chance of getting two inches of more. The coast may get up to three inches of rain, Fishel said.

"This is going to be a very, very wet scenario playing out over the next few days," he said.

Rain is likely to start in the Triangle by noon Friday and continue throughout the afternoon as highs struggle to reach 80 degrees.

Over the weekend, showers and storms are possible at any time. Highs will be about 80 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.

"If we get lucky, the weather may improve earlier than Wednesday, but through the weekend it will be wet," Fishel said.

Uggh. I was hoping the lull in rain would dry things out enough I can get into my garden. It's so wet you can't walk in it!
I can see why farmers get frustrated....too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing for some areas. but you hate to complain because it is obviously better than a drought. :) Ah, what fun.

I have some VERY interesting varieties of mushrooms and fungus popping up all over in my yard too.
