Electronic-violinist Lindsey Stirling enters the spotlight again following her performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards on April 29 in “Lindsey Stirling: Brave Enough,” a YouTube Red documentary released May 17.
From spinning on the living room rug as a child to pirouetting on the stage as a world-renowned performer, the documentary covers the ups and downs of Stirling’s musical career.
“I’ve fallen multiple times as I’ve been on this journey,” says Sterling in the teaser, emotions raw as she reveals her struggles with self-image on camera. Still, it is her trials which Stirling says have helped her to “become more brave” and made her the woman she is today: “This is who I am,” she says.
Brought to YouTube through producers Magical Elves (“Top Chef,” “Project Runway”), with Sterling among the list of executive producers, the documentary will be available in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Korea reported Variety.
According to a Deseret News article published in 2013, Stirling’s videos reached 285 million views in 2012 with hundreds of thousands of fans following her social media channels. Today, Stirling’s videos have skyrocketed to 1.7 billion views, with 9.2 million people subscribing to her personal channel, said Variety.
