'High concern' raised for missing teen

Posted August 24

— Authorities are searching for a teenager who did not return to a youth facility after his home visit.

The teenager, identified as Joshua D., was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Carver Street in the Lincoln Heights area of Halifax County.

Joshua was supposed to return to the Dobbs Youth Development Center in Kinston.

"Due to the unpredictability of juvenile behavior, division officials have a high degree of concern for the safety of both the juvenile and the public," the state Department of Public Safety said in a statement.

Anyone who has seen Joshua should notify law enforcement.

"So oes anyone know what he is in the YDC for?
You are quick to label him a "criminal" without know exactly why he is in this place."

Um I believe the good state of NC has labeled him a criminal, we didn't need to. They don't put good boys in the YDC.

The one comment that leads me to have "concern" is the comment made by the Dept. of Public Safety that says the PUBLIC SHOULD HAVE A HIGH DEGREE OF CONCERN!!! Forget his skin color, age, sex or anything else. Those who know him best - the very people who have him in custody and know what his crime was - have a 'HIGH DEGREE" of concern. Enough said!

So oes anyone know what he is in the YDC for?
You are quick to label him a "criminal" without know exactly why he is in this place. Maybe it is a serious crime and maybe it isn't. He is still someone's son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. He may have been out on a weekend plan because his crime was not serious. And he may have been hurt.
Where is the "christian compassion" all of you claim so highly to have - or doesn't this kid deserve any of that? I wonder what Jesus would think of that.

Did you not bother to read the story as well. This 'boy' IS a criminal else he would NOT have been in the Dobbs YDC...... go troll elsewhere

No. Because he is a criminal, is why I think he is a criminal. This fact isn't up for debate. There is no speculation. There is no racial issue. HE IS A CRIMINAL.

He IS a criminal. Did you read the article?

nope, that wouldn't fit in with his wanting to bash folks for being racist.....

I just love how facts are never important in cases like this. Lots of folks out there need to OPEN THEIR EYES and truly see that those who scream the loudest are often the worst and most guilty

Why was he let out if he causes concern for the safety of the general public????
