'Gruesome' double homicide 'very vindictive,' Wayne sheriff says

Authorities were called around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to 638 Waller Road, after family members say Tyrone Beamon Jr., 27, and Shaundrea Juanette Milhouse, 21, of Knightdale, were found dead in a bathtub of Beamon's home.

Family members said Beamon's 3-year-old son and Milhouse's children – ages 4 and 9 months – were also found inside but were not harmed.

The discovery was made after Beamon's mother went to the home to check on her son after being unable to reach him for several days, family members said.

Wayne County Sheriff Carey Winders said Wednesday that investigators believe the children had been alone for at least a day or two.

The 3-year-old was able to provide some information about what he might have seen, Winders said, and detectives are evaluating that to determine if it is useful in the investigation.

The boy's mother, Nicole Martin, said the child has since been asking for his father, also known as T.J., and talked some about what might happened.

"He asked me where T.J. was and asked, 'When do I get to see T.J.," she said. "(He said) 'T.J. was fighting. T.J. fell. T.J. gone.'"

Martin said the investigators have asked her not to question her son about what he might have seen and to let him talk about it on his own.

Winders would not comment on a motive for the crime but said drugs did not appear to be involved and that the home did not appear to be ransacked.

Crime scene investigators were still at the home Wednesday morning, and Winders said deputies were following up on leads in several counties.

Autopsies were scheduled Wednesday to determine the cause of death for Beamon and Milhouse.

Neighbors who were also at the home when the couple was discovered said they saw their bodies in the bathtub but did not see any blood.

Beamon moved into the house a couple months ago, they said, and he and Milhouse were in a new relationship.

As detectives try to figure what happened inside the home, family and friends were struggling to figure out why it happened.

"I'm just going to miss my son," Beamon's mother, Wanda Greene, said. "The way his life was taken, he didn't deserve it."
