Durham man arrested in Sept. 20 shooting
Durham police arrested 21-year-old Durham resident Lamonte Nathaniel Colbert on Simmons Street Monday in connection with a Sept. 20 shooting on Massey Avenue.

Colbert is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 12 a.m. on Sept. 20 in the 700 block of Massey Avenue. The victims, a 14-year-old girl and her 37-year-old mother, told officers that shots had been fired at them through the front door of the house. The 14-year-old was shot in the leg and her mother suffered a graze wound to her leg.
Colbert is being held in the Durham County Jail under a $505,000 bond.
