Durham, N.C. — "The Book of Mormon" began its two-week run at the Durham Performing Arts Center this week amid snow and ice.
Most touring Broadway shows have a policy not to cancel due to local road conditions or inclement weather. That left many who held tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday nights out of luck. No refunds were available, and with the show nearly sold out for the rest of the run, it wasn't possible just to swap out tickets for another night.
The DPAC is trying to make things right.
The venue announced on Friday that pre-show ticket lotteries would be canceled for the remainder of the show's run in an effort to accommodate those folks affected by the weather.
"The Book of Mormon" runs Feb. 11-23 at the DPAC.
