— Band Together NC will host its main event - a lively concert featuring two progressive bluegrass bands - Saturday evening at Red Hat Amphitheater.

Tickets start at $20 for this outdoor show that donates 100 percent of its proceeds to Kidznotes, a nonprofit organization that provides orchestral training for school-age kids who may not have access to it otherwise. This year's partnership will expand the number of students served in Durham and Raleigh to 600 by the upcoming school year.

The Devil Makes Three, an Americana band that mixes bluegrass, country, folk, blues and jazz music, will open the show before Trampled by Turtles, a progressive bluegrass band, takes the stage. Audiences will even get to hear a performance by kids from the Kidznotes orchestral program before the show ends.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m.; the show starts at 6 p.m. You can buy classic lawn seats or VIP tickets online prior to the event.
