— An 'aggressive fox' that was killed Monday tested positive for rabies, according to Raleigh police.

On Sunday, officers responded to the 200 block of Lynwood Lane, off Six Forks Road, in response to a report of an aggressive fox that had bitten one person and attacked a cat.

On Monday, a construction worker killed an aggressive fox that then tested positive for rabies.

"The two locations are about a half-mile apart. It is not possible to determine if the fox killed on July 27 is the same one involved in the July 26 incident," police said.

Residents with animal concerns are urged to contact city officials at (919) 831-6311.

Had a fox come after me and my dog and the police and animal control said they could do nothing until it bit me. It came after other neighbors as well. I guess I should just wait for a bite and then call for help. At that point I will not the the cities help. Great support from the city
