Lottery officials are waiting on the winner of the biggest Carolina Cash 5 jackpot ever drawn to come forward.

A ticket sold Sunday at One Stop Shop on Mitchell Mill Road in Zebulon hit a jackpot of $1,144,821. It’s the largest single-ticket jackpot in the history of the game.

Three players split a $1,355,000 jackpot in a May 2011 drawing. The next largest prize was awarded to a Greenville player who won nearly $857,000 in a November 2007 drawing.

The Zebulon ticketholder  – who beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to win – had yet to come forward Monday afternoon.

“We are excited to meet the biggest Cash 5 jackpot winner in history,” North Carolina Education Lottery Executive Director Alice Garland said in a statement.

Ticketholders have 180 days to claim their prize.

This guy won twice LOL

To bad it wasn't mine. LOL

The winner should send $900,000 to the government. After all, that would be his "fair share".

I'm pretty sure we didn't have the lottery in NC in 2001.
