Durham, N.C. — Local business and community leaders and Duke University have raised $1.2 million to benefit Durham neighborhoods and local public schools, officials announced Friday.
The money will benefit 12 neighborhoods adjacent to Duke’s campus and the eight schools that serve those neighborhoods.
The Duke-Durham Campaign depends on local business and non-profit communities to obtain funds from local companies and individuals to benefit the Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership.
The partnership focuses on K-12 educational achievement and enrichment; affordable housing; neighborhood revitalization; accessible health care; and engagement of Duke students and staff in community service.
