Fuquay-Varina Officer finding Door Dash after arresting drive

A Fuquay-Varina man got a surprise delivery Wednesday night, which wasn't what he expected.

Tim Hall thought his late-night Doordash order might be delayed, but he never imagined he'd see a police officer at his door.

Even more unexpected? The officer was there to deliver the food himself.

"It was late, and no one ever rings my doorbell at that time," Hall said. "I looked on the ring camera and saw it was the Fuquay Varina police department, and they had my pizza."

The officer, going above and beyond the call of duty, ensured Hall received his dinner by delivering it himself after the original Doordash driver was arrested.

Hall's son had ordered the Papa Johns pizza because sometimes cooking just isn't in the cards.

In doorbell camera footage, Officer Starling can be seen ringing the doorbell with Hall's food.

After a short wait, Hall opens the door.

"Did you order DoorDash?" Officer Starling asks.

"What happened?" Hall replies, clearly surprised.

"He got arrested," Officer Starling explains.

"That's what I figured," Hall says with a laugh. He then thanks the officer for his kindness.

Both Hall and the Fuquay-Varina Police Department praised Officer Starling online for his act of kindness.

One neighbor said the officer went "above and beyond," while Hall himself said, "Our town's police department is fantastic. They're well known for serving the community well."

The police department confirmed that the Doordash driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction.

The warrant was for a misdemeanor offense.
